Bendbeat Introduces, Anthony Broadman

“Planning sustainably and being good stewards for the next generation.” City council member, Anthony Broadman, sits down with Brian Ladd to discuss the challenges ahead of Bend in the midst of exponential growth, and how to manage it.

Anthony is a lawyer whose practice focuses on representing Tribal governments, assisting businesses in Bend, and advancing Indigenous rights in federal and state courts. He and his wife, Dr. Kate Broadman, have lived in Bend since 2010 and have three daughters. Anthony was elected in November 2020 with the highest vote total in the history of the City of Bend.

He is the past Chair of the Oregon State Bar Indian Law Section, past Chair of the Washington State Bar Association Administrative Law Section, and a Tribal Court Appellate Judge. Anthony has regularly volunteered for community organizations, including serving on the boards of the Cascade Cycling Classic Youth Foundation and Grace First Lutheran Church, and as volunteer legal counsel to the Oregon Bicycle Racing Association (OBRA), the Central Oregon Avalanche Center, and Tulalip Little League.
